Hochanger
The Hochanger is a 1,682-metre peak in the Mürzsteger Alps of Upper Styria. It stands between the Hohe Veitsch and the Turntaler Kogel to the north-east and the Steirischer Seeberg pass to the north-west. The summit is free of trees, giving wide views over the eastern Hochschwab range, the Hohe Veitsch and the Aflenzer basin to the south-west. The mountain is reached by several marked routes. From the Seebergalm via the Lappental and Göriacheralm takes about two hours. From Turnau or Göriach by way of the Ostereralm takes roughly three hours. From Greith through the Turnauer Alm and along the Höhenweg to the Göriacher Alm takes about three and a half hours. In winter the Hochanger becomes a popular, easy ski-touring summit from the Seebergalm. Its open slopes are also well suited to snowshoe tours. The open summit ridge offers long-distance views across the mountains and valleys of Styria.
