Eferding airfield

The Flugplatz Eferding is a private airfield in Pupping, Oberösterreich. It sits 4.5 kilometres northwest of Eferding’s centre on the south-west bank of the Danube in the flat Eferdinger Becken. The surrounding Hausruckviertel countryside stretches out in gentle fields and wooded ridges. The airfield is run by the Segelflug- und Modellbauclub Eferding and hosts gliders, motor gliders, ultralights, light aircraft and helicopters. Grass runways stretch 425 metres, and gliders launch by winch or tow-plane. Visiting pilots need prior permission to land here, and the site keeps fuel for piston-engine aircraft. Visitors find a working airfield with hangars, a small apron and a fuel point. Beyond the runway lie open meadows and distant tree lines. The Danube’s broad valley frames the scene, while the Hausruck’s low hills rise to the south-west.
