chapel of Klein-Burgstall (Gemeinde Maissau)
The Ortskapelle in Klein-Burgstall is a small chapel in the village of Klein-Burgstall, part of the Hollabrunn district in Lower Austria. Built in 1842, it is a modest rectangular structure with a semi-circular apse at the rear. The chapel features two rounded windows and a square tower at the front, topped with a pyramid-shaped roof and small arched sound openings. The building is recognised in the Austrian art topography and protected as a listed monument. Its simple design reflects the modest rural architecture of the 19th century. The tower, added later, gives the chapel a distinctive presence in the village centre. Inside, the chapel offers a quiet space for reflection, with plain white walls and a small altar. The interior is unadorned, emphasising its functional purpose. Visitors notice the craftsmanship of the stonework and the careful proportions of the tower. The chapel stands as a modest landmark in a peaceful village setting.
