Krems-Langenlois airfield

Krems-Langenlois Airport sits five kilometres north-northeast of Krems in Lower Austria. It is a public-use airfield with ICAO code LOAG. The airport occupies flat ground beside the Danube valley. Runways run east–west across open fields. Small planes and gliders use the longest runway. A single hangar and a low terminal building stand near the apron. The airfield is worth a visit for its quiet atmosphere and local flying scene. It hosts gliding clubs and private pilots from the region. Visitors can watch take-offs and landings on clear days. The surrounding landscape of vineyards and river terraces is visible from the viewing area. The airport also serves as a base for aerial photography and survey flights. Inside the terminal there is a small café and a flight briefing room. Outside, a grass strip runs parallel to the runway for model aircraft. The apron is large enough for several light aircraft to park. Beyond the fence, the Danube cycle path passes within sight of the airfield. The view north shows the Waldviertel plateau rising in the distance.
