Theater Atelier

The Theatre Atelier stands in Stuttgart-Ost, a private chamber theatre founded in January 2014 by actor and director Vladislav Grakovskiy. It serves as a cultural venue for theatre, readings, visual arts, dance and music, seating around fifty people. The building’s flexible stage can switch between proscenium and open-room layouts. The theatre is worth the journey because its ensemble consists of free-lance professional actors who rotate a repertoire of about twelve productions. Each season brings roughly four new premieres, alongside guest performances by other artists and theatres. From 2017 to 2021 it took part in the “Szenenwechsel” project, staging shows in Samara, and plans a 2026 season in St Louis. Inside, visitors find a compact space where productions range from classics like Gogol’s Dead Souls to modern adaptations such as Kafka’s Metamorphosis. The programme also includes multilingual events, an improvisation series, and special evenings like 1001 Nights. The theatre’s small size and varied offerings create an intimate setting for performances and encounters with the arts.
