Villa Oleander
The Villa Oleander stands beside the Attersee in Schörfling, a lakeside village in Upper Austria. Built in 1879 for the Countess Khevenhüller, it was designed as a holiday house. The building is now protected as a historic monument. Between 1908 and 1912 the villa welcomed Gustav Klimt and Emilie Flöge each summer. They painted and relaxed here during their stays by the water. Later, from 1913, the Meiss-Teuffen family made it their summer home. Visitors find a quiet lakeside house with a view across the Attersee. The villa’s simple lines and large windows reflect its 19th-century origins. Nearby paths lead along the shore and through the village. The setting remains peaceful, much as it was when Klimt worked here.
