Aggborough

Aggborough Stadium stands in Kidderminster, a town in the West Midlands of England. It is the home ground of Kidderminster Harriers football club. The stadium has been used by Worcester City as well. The ground opened in May 1890 with a single grandstand and a running track. The stadium has seen several changes over the years. In 1935 a new 460-seat grandstand was built. By World War II covered areas had been created on the east and southern sides. After the war the running track was replaced by a cycle track. The ground’s record attendance of 9,155 was set in 1948 for an FA Cup match. In 1955 Aggborough became the first ground to host a floodlit FA Cup match. A new East Stand was built in 1979 and terracing was added all around the pitch in 1983. In the 1990s the ground was rebuilt with a new Main Stand and covered terracing at each end. A 2,040-seat cantilever stand replaced the old East Stand in 2003. The stadium now holds 7,000 people, with 3,140 seats.
