Rugby Park stands in the Scottish town of Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire. It is the home ground of Kilmarnock Football Club and has been since 1899. The stadium replaced an earlier ground of the same name on Dundonald Road, which had itself followed several other sites used by the club in its early years. Originally shared with cricket and rugby teams, the name reflects that shared history. The current stadium was designed by football architect Archibald Leitch and opened with a match against Celtic in a 2–2 draw. Floodlights were installed in 1953 and a new grandstand added in 1961.

The ground has hosted international football and rugby fixtures, including Scotland’s 5–2 win over Wales in 1894 and a 2016 rugby match between Scotland and Georgia. In 1994–95 the stadium was rebuilt as an all-seater venue with three new stands—the Moffat, Chadwick and East Stands—bringing capacity to 18,128. The West Stand was later renamed the Frank Beattie Stand in honour of the club’s 1965 league-winning captain. A 4-star hotel, the Park Hotel, was built beside the ground in 2002.

Visitors find a modern stadium with four stands, each holding between 3,000 and 5,000 spectators. The pitch is surrounded by seating on all sides and equipped with underground heating. Scoreboards once stood atop the Moffat and Chadwick Stands, though these have since been removed. The stadium’s location near Kilmarnock railway station makes it easy to reach, and the town centre lies a short walk away.
