Braigh Coire Chruinn-bhalgain
Braigh Coire Chruinn-bhalgain is a mountain top reached on the route from Pitlochry to Braemar and Blairgowrie in the Scottish Highlands. It stands at grid reference NN945724 and has a small cairn at its summit. The mountain is listed in special Scottish peak registers by height and by prominence. It holds four classifications: Marilyn, Munro, Murdo and HuMP. The peak is measured, verified and recorded by several hill-climbing societies. Their findings are gathered on the Database of British and Irish Hills. The last re-survey of the summit’s height took place on 28 October 2001. Efforts continue to find its original Gaelic name. Visitors reach the summit by following the long-distance path that crosses the mountain. The final climb is short but steep, leading to the cairn and wide views across the surrounding glens. On clear days the Cairngorms and Ben Lawers can be seen. The route is used by both walkers and runners training for mountain races.
