Celle railway stop

Celle Ligure station stands beside the Genoa–Ventimiglia railway line in Liguria. It serves the town of Celle Ligure, a small coastal community. The present halt opened in 1977 when the line between Varazze and Finale Ligure was doubled. The original 19th-century station was then closed and removed. In 2008 the site became a simple stop for regional trains. Since then it has handled only passenger exchange. The halt is important because it links Celle Ligure to Savona and Genoa. Regional trains run every hour, operated by Trenitalia under a Liguria contract. The station building now houses the local Red Cross first-aid post. A ticket machine and a small bar occupy the ground floor. Outside, the forecourt is a busy bus and taxi rank. Visitors find two platforms beside the two running tracks. The first track carries trains towards Savona, the second towards Genoa. A sheltered waiting area stands on each platform. The forecourt has bus stops and a taxi rank. The sea lies only a short walk away, and the town’s beach and promenade are close by.
