Loch Achaidh na h-Inich

Loch Achaidh na h-Inich is a freshwater loch in the Highlands, set among rolling hills and farmland. It lies just south-east of Plockton, east of Duirinish, and north-east of Balmacara, close to Loch Lundie. The loch’s northern end is called Ach an Dà Thearnaidh, or the Field of the Two Descents. This field was once the gathering place for Clan Matheson, known in Gaelic as Clann MacMhathain. The clan’s fighting men would assemble there when summoned by the fiery cross.
