Magda-Heyken-Haus

The Magda-Heyken-Haus is a local history museum in Hage, a small town in East Frisia. It stands in the centre of the Flecken, a settlement with a long tradition. The building was once the home of Magda Heyken, a teacher and local historian who lived from 1895 to 1972. After her death, the house was turned into a museum and opened in 1986. This was made by the former town director Udo Backer between 1924 and 1988, using old plans and images. Volunteers continue to add to the collection today.
