Easan Labhar

Easan Labhar is a series of waterfalls on the island of Mull in Argyll and Bute. They lie along a small stream called the Allt an Easain Labhair, west of Salen. Another unnamed waterfall flows nearby on the Allt na Linne burn. The main stream joins the River Ba before it reaches Loch na Keal. The name comes from Gaelic and means ‘the talkative waterfalls’. The falls sit in a quiet glen where the land rises gently around them. The Allt an Easain Labhair is a minor tributary of the Allt Glac an Lin. It carries clear water down through mossy rocks and birch scrub. The sound of rushing water fills the air as the stream drops over ledges and small cascades. Visitors find a peaceful spot where the water tumbles over smooth stone shelves. The path beside the burn is narrow and uneven in places. Wild ferns grow along the banks and the air smells of damp earth. From the lower falls the view opens toward Loch na Keal in the distance.
