The Belfry Hotel & Resort

The Belfry is a golf resort and hotel in Wishaw, Warwickshire, eight miles from Birmingham. It sits close to Sutton Coldfield and belongs to KSL Capital Partners. The resort has three golf courses: the Brabazon Course hosts major tournaments, while the PGA National and The Derby offer varied play. The Professional Golfers’ Association is based there, alongside a four-star hotel, tennis courts and a leisure spa. The resort has staged more than twenty European Tour events and hosted the Ryder Cup four times, a record for any venue. In 2013 it completed a £26 million refurbishment of bedrooms, meeting rooms and public spaces, including a new lobby entrance. Sam’s Bar was renamed after Scottish golfer Sam Torrance, who captained the 2002 Ryder Cup. Recent awards include England’s Leading Resort for ten straight years and World’s Best Golf Hotel four times running. Visitors find well-kept grounds with three championship courses and a four-star hotel. The leisure spa and tennis courts provide relaxation after a round. Sam’s Club House offers a place to meet, while the Brabazon Course remains the main stage for tournaments. The resort’s ongoing improvements include an £80 million expansion due for completion in autumn 2025.
