Dominican Monastery in Olomouc
The former Dominican monastery with the church of Saint Michael stands in the historic core of Olomouc and its domes shape the city skyline. It was founded as early as the beginning of the thirteenth century, then extended over several centuries and repeatedly rebuilt after devastating fires. In the eighteenth century the monastery was dissolved and the Dominicans moved into the former Franciscan house. Later the buildings served the faculty of education, before being returned to the archbishop's seminary. The complex has been a listed cultural monument since nineteen fifty-eight.
