Moss Lane

Moss Lane is a stadium in Altrincham, Greater Manchester. It hosts football matches for Altrincham and Manchester United’s youth and women’s teams. Rugby league sides have also played there, including Chorley Borough RLFC which became Trafford Borough RLFC while based at Moss Lane. The ground has two seated stands on one side and terraces on the other three sides. Its total capacity reaches 7,873 spectators. The stadium has seen several name changes over the years. In 2013, a scrap metal company bought the naming rights and the ground became known by a new title. Manchester United’s under-17s and women’s development teams use Moss Lane regularly for home games. Altrincham’s first team also plays its matches there. Visitors find two seated stands on one side of the pitch, with standing terraces on the remaining three sides. The pitch sits at the centre of the ground, surrounded by these viewing areas. The stadium’s layout allows close views of the action from most parts of the ground. It remains a key venue for local and youth football in the region.
