Bodfog (carnedd)

Bodfog is a Bronze Age ring cairn near Margam in Neath Port Talbot. It stands on open moorland at grid reference SS830887. The site belongs to the class of monuments called ‘cairns’ on Ordnance Survey maps. Archaeologists recognise it as a ceremonial or burial place built by Celtic peoples in the Bronze Age. Cadw has listed the monument under SAM number GM443. Experts distinguish ring cairns from stone circles, which belong to a different period. Visitors reach the cairn by following upland paths across heather moor. The ring of stones marks the centre of a circular platform built more than three thousand years ago. From the site there are wide views over the surrounding hills and valleys.
