Càrn nan Gobhar

Càrn nan Gobhar is a mountain in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland. It stands north of Glen Strathfarrar and south of Glen Orrin. The peak rises to 992 metres and is usually climbed with nearby Munros. These include Sgurr a’ Choire Ghlais and Sgurr na Ruaidhe. Another Càrn nan Gobhar lies 14 kilometres to the south-west. The mountain offers long views across the glens and ridges. The climb rewards walkers with wide Highland scenery. Its height and position make it a fine viewpoint. The route passes through rough ground and steep slopes. Many climbers start from the south side of Glen Strathfarrar. On top, the summit is broad and grassy. The air is often clear at this height. The view stretches over the surrounding Munros. To the east, Glen Orrin stretches away. To the west, the hills of Affric appear on the horizon.
