Lehen parish church
The Pfarrkirche Salzburg-Lehen stands on Vinzenz-Pallotti-Platz in the Lehen district of Salzburg. It is a modern Roman Catholic parish church dedicated to Saint Vincent Pallotti and belongs to the Salzburg city deanery of the Archdiocese of Salzburg. The building is protected as a listed monument. The church was constructed between 1962 and 1964 following designs by architect Alfred Brandstätter and consecrated in 1965 by Archbishop Andreas Rohracher. Its design features a reinforced concrete structure beneath a tent-like roof, with a detached bell tower. The stained glass was created by painter Josef Mikl, while sculptor Josef Zenzmaier crafted the bronze fittings. The statue of Saint Joseph was made by sculptor Karl Hittmann. Inside, visitors find a spacious interior shaped by clean lines and natural light filtering through the stained-glass windows. The freestanding tower stands apart from the main structure, adding to the church’s modern silhouette. The surrounding square provides a quiet place to pause, with the church’s geometric forms contrasting with the older buildings nearby.
