Pfarrkirche hl. Anna, Kleinwarasdorf
The Roman Catholic parish church in Kleinwarasdorf stands in the village of Kleinwarasdorf, also known in Croatian as Mali Borištof, within the municipality of Großwarasdorf in the Oberpullendorf district of Burgenland. It is dedicated to Saint Anne and belongs to the Croatian deanery of Großwarasdorf. The church was first built in 1505, as shown by an inscription in the tower porch, and was extended and reconsecrated in 1860. In 1939 it became a parish church. The building is a single-nave structure with a plain interior and a rounded, recessed choir. The west tower at the front has medieval origins, while its upper section with a brick spire dates from 1860. The nave is divided into three bays with ribbed vaulting and wide pilasters supporting transverse arches. The gallery bay is slightly narrower, probably matching the width of the medieval church. The three-bay gallery has a straight parapet resting on octagonal columns. The choir vault is ribbed and the apse has a shell vault. Inside, the mid-18th-century high altar features a concave structure with two sets of coupled Corinthian columns and a painted altarpiece of Saint Anne. Four white-painted statues of saints stand on the altar, and the attic shows a carved group of the Holy Trinity with angels. The left side altar holds a baroque figure of Saint Joseph and a late-baroque tabernacle, while the right side altar displays a baroque Madonna in a radiant halo dated 1700. The pulpit from the late 17th century is decorated with figures of the four Evangelists and Christ between twisted columns, and its sounding board carries a 19th-century statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. The organ, built in 1949 by Rieger Orgelbau, has 16 registers.
