zbytky románských hradeb - Skalnatý vrch
The remains of the Romanesque town wall on the rocky hill known as Skalnatý vrch are among the oldest surviving parts of the fortifications of Olomouc. Sections of masonry from the Romanesque period have been preserved, showing how early the settlement was secured with heavy stone walls. The rock itself offered natural protection, which the builders skilfully incorporated into their defences. Standing here today means looking at traces of the era in which a settlement by the Morava grew into one of the leading towns of Moravia.
