Sgurr Innse
Sgurr Innse is a mountain top between Fort William and Loch Leven in the Grampians of the Scottish Highlands. It stands in wild country north-west of the Great Glen. The summit carries three classifications: Marilyn, Corbett and HuMP. Measured hills in Britain and Ireland are listed by height and prominence. Organisations update these lists and share them on the Database of British and Irish Hills. The last precise survey of Sgurr Innse was carried out on 28 October 2001. The name is Gaelic and efforts are made to record it in the original language. Walkers often combine the climb with nearby peaks such as Sgorr a’ Bhuic. The route follows rough paths over heather and bog before reaching the final rocky ridge. From the summit there are wide views across Glen Coe and towards Ben Nevis. On clear days the islands of Mull and Skye appear to the west. The surrounding area is part of the Lochaber geopark. The mountain is recognised by hillwalkers for its long, steady ascent rather than technical difficulty.
