Little Kyll

The Kleine Kyll is a small river in the Vulkaneifel region of Rheinland-Pfalz. It begins near Neroth in the Neroth woods and flows south for about 24 kilometres before joining the Lieser. Along its route it passes through quiet villages like Oberstadtfeld and Niederstadtfeld. The river’s surroundings offer peaceful walks and cycling routes. The Kosmosradweg cycleway runs beside the Kleine Kyll between Oberstadtfeld and Bleckhausener Mühle. Near Manderscheid the river meets the Horngraben and forms the dramatic Wolfsschlucht gorge and a waterfall. Visitors find gentle streams, wooded banks and open meadows along the Kleine Kyll. The cycleway provides easy access to the riverside scenery. At Wolfsschlucht the steep walls and falling water create a striking contrast with the surrounding farmland.
