Rampoldplatte
The Rampoldplatte is a grassy summit standing at 1 422 metres in the Wendelstein area of the Mangfall mountains. It belongs to a ridge that runs north-east from the Hochsalwand before turning north-west to the Farrenpoint. The mountain carries a simple summit cross and is crossed by walkers heading for the Hochsalwand from the north. Climbers reach the top from the Schuhbräualm via the Rampoldalm in about forty minutes on a marked path. A longer route starts at the Breitenberghütte and passes the Lechneralm before joining the summit ridge. From the Jenbach valley south of Bad Feilnbach the West ridge takes two and a half hours to ascend, though care is needed on the descent. The grassy slopes and open summit give wide views across the Bavarian Pre-Alps. The ridge is dotted with small alpine meadows and the occasional limestone outcrop. On clear days the peaks of the Karwendel range appear in the north-west.
