Ben Vorlich

Ben Vorlich is a mountain in the Southern Highlands, south of Loch Earn and Ardvorlich. It stands 985 metres high and is one of Scotland’s Munros. The mountain is notable for its prominence when viewed from the Central Belt. Loch Earn borders it to the north and Loch Lubnaig to the west. The town of Callander lies to the south of the mountain. The mountain is often climbed from Ardvorlich via Glen Vorlich. A path leads up the glen before turning towards the northern ridge. The summit is about 4 kilometres from Ardvorlich. Many walkers continue to the nearby Stùc a' Chroin along Ben Vorlich’s south-west ridge. A return route avoids re-ascending by taking a path from the bealach between the two hills. Alternative routes come from Glen Artney or Callander on the southern side. These follow the southeastern ridge to the summit. The views from the top stretch across Loch Earn and the surrounding glens. The mountain’s ridges and slopes offer varied walking terrain.
