Bruckmuehl Parish Church
The Roman Catholic parish church of Bruckmühl stands in the village of Bruckmühl within the market town of Ottnang am Hausruck in Upper Austria. It is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and belongs to the deanery of Schwanenstadt in the diocese of Linz. The building has been protected as a monument since its construction. The present church was built between 1884 and 1889 to designs by Otto Schirmer, master builder of Linz Cathedral. Its style is neo-Gothic, with a wide central nave and narrow side aisles whose vaults spring from the arcades at the same height. The tower at the side of the choir rises to a pointed spire above the roof. Inside, the furnishings follow the neo-Gothic scheme, completing the harmony of the architecture. The broad nave and the equal-height vaults give the interior a spacious, unified feel. Visitors step into a calm, orderly space where light falls evenly through the high windows.
