Broadhall Way

Broadhall Way stands in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, as the home of Stevenage Football Club. The ground was built in 1960 on the site of a former sewage works and opened the following year. It has been the club’s base since 1980, though earlier clubs used the site before then. The stadium has four distinct stands and a capacity of 7,318, with a record crowd of 8,040 set in 1998. Temporary additions and later redevelopments have shaped the ground over the decades. The ground’s history reflects the club’s journey from non-league football to the Football League. Stevenage were denied promotion in 1996 because the stadium lacked the required capacity. A major redevelopment programme followed, including a new South Stand and later a £1.2 million North Stand completed in 2019. The club’s naming rights have changed several times, most recently to SPORTA Arena in 2026 after a decade-long deal. Visitors find a modern stadium with four covered stands arranged around the pitch. The West Stand holds 1,800 seated spectators and houses the club shop and offices. The East Terrace runs the full length of the pitch and carries a clock and television gantry. The North Stand includes a bar and lounge open to all fans, while the South Stand holds 1,390 away supporters and features an electronic scoreboard. The ground sits in a residential area, with the club’s car park located opposite the West Stand.
