Vestec
Vestec is a small village in the Příbram district of the Central Bohemian Region. It lies about 1.5 kilometres southwest of Hřiměždice, with the Vltava river flowing through it. The village covers 1.71 square kilometres and has 94 registered addresses. In 2011, it was home to 88 permanent residents. Its history goes back to at least 1325, when it was first mentioned in writing. The village was once an administrative part of Velká, before becoming a separate settlement in 1960. Between 1850 and 1960 it was listed as a hamlet of Velká in the Příbram district. Vestec became part of Hřiměždice on 12 June 1960. Despite its size, the village retains a quiet, rural atmosphere. Visitors find a peaceful riverside setting with old farmhouses and narrow lanes. The Vltava’s banks offer quiet spots for walking or watching birds. There are no grand monuments, just a cluster of modest homes and a sense of time standing still. The surrounding fields and woods belong to the wider Příbram countryside.
