Pfarrkirche Josef der Arbeiter Traun-Oedt
The parish church of Traun-Oedt stands in the Oedt district of the town of Traun in Upper Austria. It is a modern Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Joseph the Worker, serving the Traun deanery within the Diocese of Linz. The church replaced an earlier arrangement where Oedt belonged to Hörsching parish. In September 1960 a parish hall with a small bell tower was consecrated and used for services during a 22-month construction period. The new building, designed by architects Gottfried Nobl and Othmar Kainz, was consecrated in October 1989 by Bishop Maximilian Aichern. Inside, stained-glass windows, a tabernacle image of Christ on the cross and the furnishings of the baptismal chapel were created by Professor Hans Planck. The baptismal font was carved by sculptor Peter Dimmel. A two-manual organ with sixteen stops, built by Czech organ maker Vladimír Šlajch in 1995, completes the interior.
