Salisbury Playhouse

Salisbury Playhouse stands in the heart of Salisbury, a city in Wiltshire known for its medieval cathedral. The theatre opened in 1976 and includes a 517-seat Main House, a 149-seat Salberg Studio, rehearsal rooms, a café, and community spaces. It is run by Wiltshire Creative, a charity formed in 2018 after merging with Salisbury Arts Centre and the Salisbury International Arts Festival. The artistic director is Gareth Machin, with Rosa Corbishley serving as executive director since 2024. The building is the largest performance space in Wiltshire and receives support from Arts Council England, Wiltshire Council, and Salisbury City Council.
