Recreation Park

Recreation Park stands in Alloa, a town in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. It is a football stadium and the home ground of Alloa Athletic, who have played there since 1895. The ground has also hosted other teams, including Broomhill from 2016 to 2022 and will soon be shared by Stirling University’s second team. A record crowd of 15,467 watched Alloa Athletic play Celtic in the 1954–55 Scottish Cup. The stadium has an artificial pitch and a capacity of 3,100. The ground has changed over the years. A wooden main stand was built in the 1920s, and floodlights were added in 1979. A new main stand opened in 1991, and a seated stand was built on the Hilton Road Side in 2008. The stadium was renamed The Indodrill Stadium in 2014, though many still call it Recreation Park. The Ochil Hills rise behind the Railway End, providing a striking backdrop. Visitors find two seated stands with just over 900 seats in total. The main stand runs half the length of the pitch, while the other stand is used by away supporters. The rest of the ground has open terracing, except for a small cover at one end. The artificial pitch was upgraded in 2016 and will be relaid again in 2025. Alloa railway station is a short walk away, and the A907 road runs beside the stadium.
