Wiener Tor in Hainburg an der Donau
Wienertor – Hainburg’s mighty town gate
The Wienertor is the emblem of Hainburg an der Donau and one of the largest and most impressive medieval town gates in Central Europe. Built in the 13th century as the western entrance to the town fortifications, it still greets visitors with its massive, many-towered façade.
From the Wienertor you can explore Hainburg’s exceptionally well-preserved town wall. The gate houses a small museum and makes a fine starting point for a walk through the medieval old town.
